Ambassador Tebogo Seokolo
South Africa’s Ambassador to Austria
Ambassador Seokolo is South Africa’s Ambassador to Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia. He also serves as South Africa’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and International Organisations in Austria, which include the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), United Nations Industrial Development Board (UNIDO) and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). In his capacity as South Africa’s Permanent Representative, Ambassador has presided over the leadership of various international organisations including as Chairperson of the IAEA Board of Governors and President of the Board of UNIDO.
Ambassador Seokolo joined the South African Foreign Service in 1995, and has since served in various senior positions both in South Africa and abroad including as, South Africa’s Ambassador to Turkey, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan; Acting Chief of State Protocol of the Republic of South Africa; Deputy Chief of State Protocol of the Republic of South Africa; Chief Director for Western Europe in the Foreign Ministry; Chief Director, Governance – Office of the Premier of the Northwest Province and First Secretary, Political Affairs, South African Embassy in the Netherlands.
Ambassador Tebogo Seokolo holds a Master of Diplomatic Studies (MDIPS) from the University of Pretoria. He has completed several training programmes both in South Africa and abroad, covering foreign policy analysis and diplomacy as well as international negotiations.
